This handbook focuses on helping journalists to produce new media products by using modern technologies and to easily adapt to the rapid development of the Internet as a news source. It includes an analysis and insights on new media trends such as multimedia outreach, the creation of visual images, longreads, storytelling, fact-checking and data journalism. New formats for business and international journalism, journalism ethics, coverage of conflicts, the importance of multi-ethnic sensitivity as well as journalism security are also elaborated in the handbook. The book is recommended to journalists, media experts, civil servants, scholars, educators, university-level students, and broad sections of the public interested in media development and journalism. It is available in Kazakh and Russian languages.

This follow-up report provides an overview of the level of representation of communities in a numerical minority in the civil service at the central and local level. It provides an assessment of progress made by selected Kosovo institutions in implementing the relevant legislative obligations that guarantee fair and proportional representation of communities in the civil service since the OSCE’s previous assessment report in 2013. Additionally, the report identifies gaps in implementation and provides specific recommendations to key institutions in order to facilitate improvements regarding the employment of communities in the civil service.

This study was commissioned by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). It explores how different types of Jews perceive, experience and respond to anti-Semitism, with a particular focus on three areas: gender, age and religiosity.

Energy security is a precondition for economic growth and stability. Without predictable, reliable and economically sound energy supplies, regional economies cannot prosper. This is why energy security forms an important part of the OSCE’s concept of comprehensive security.

The Methodology for monitoring of Ukrainian courts’ judgements on their application of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) was developed by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (PCU) within its “Safeguarding Human Rights through Courts” project. The project’s two-fold objective was to strengthen civil society’s capacity to monitor the application of human rights protection legal instruments in court judgements and to establish a baseline and evaluate the progress in application of the ECHR and the case-law of the ECtHR by PCU-trained judges. PCU’s Implementing Partner – “Institute of Applied Humanitarian Research” – used the developed methodology to pilot the monitoring of judgements during 2015-2016. The analysis of monitoring findings will be made available in a separate report in November 2017.
