This report presents the key issues and challenges drawn from the interventions and discussions of key players at the seminar on Co-operation to Prevent Trafficking in Human Beings in the Mediterranean Region organized by the OSR/CTHB, which took place in Rome on 8 February 2013. Indeed, the Seminar helped in identifying priority areas for possible enhanced co-operation between participating States and the Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation “to address the multiple challenges of a strategy aimed at eradicating modern slavery” in the Mediterranean Region.

The research report contains results of a survey of discrimination in job advertisements. It was conducted based on a sample of 988 advertisements, published in four daily newspapers and one web portal from 15 April to 15 September 2013. The research is the first of its kind in the country and has several benefits.

The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan in co-operation with the National Information-Analytical Center on Drug Control under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been issuing the information bulletin on the Drug Situation in Central Asia on yearly basis since 2003. Data presented in publications are provided by the state drug control agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan and include official statistical, analytical and legislative information.

This report, published ten years after the Action Plan’s adoption, is the second such effort to review and assess the progress made in following that blueprint.
